“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
I am on a journey to grow stronger, feeding my soul and spirit, and learning to feed this body…properly. I am on a journey to restore my loves to their proper order, prioritize my goals, and redirect my energy and time to only those things that matter most. I am on a journey of opening up my heart and hands to God, so that He can use me, however He sees fit. This is my time of preparation.
I was reminded by this period of intense focus – on my studies, my habits, my prayer life, and vision for the future – that in order to embrace the place that God has prepared for me, there is work for me to do RIGHT NOW. Work that can’t wait, because it needs to be done before my moment of opportunity arrives – any day now, I can feel it!
It’s easy to think that one day we will magically arrive, like Cinderella in her pumpkin-turned-coach, at our place of purpose, instantaneously transformed into that entrepreneur or author or well-respected professional we imagine, and have plastered to our vision boards. Yet, the reality is, that the longer we take to begin the preparation process, the longer it takes to arrive at that longed-for moment. Like continually wishing the weight away, but always waiting for another day or week to eat healthy and start exercising.
(Keeping it short tonight, as I am in the middle of studying for an exam, but stay tuned for more on this topic of preparation tomorrow!)
