As I opened up a fresh journal to begin a new writing project, I paused for a moment to consider the beauty of that first blank page. Void of ink and covered with inviting lines that seemed to beckon my pen near, the prospect of “starting over” caused a palpable tingle of excitement.
These empty pages could become anything under the pointed tip of my chosen writing tool, and the influence of divine inspiration. I only need to put pen to paper, pressing down ever so carefully to form that first word, and tada something new will have begun.
The start of a new week holds this same promise. Maybe last week’s story didn’t go exactly as we planned. Maybe we couldn’t find a way to mend that relationship a few days ago. Maybe we simply struggled to get through the work week, and are at this very moment dreading that 6 am alarm racing towards us, even while sleep eludes us.
I want to encourage you to take heart – tomorrow holds the promise of a fresh start.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
